Print Regional Design Annual 2008

We are proud to announce that MODE will be featured in Print Magazine’s 2008 Regional Design Annual. Our inclusion marks our 3rd consecutive and will feature MODE’s own identity system, always a complicated but great opportunity for a studio to create something unique.

Since relocating to the ‘Queen City’, the studio has grown and changed. When it came time to re-approach our identity, we wanted to reflect the changes in the studio and the individuals which comprise it. Our new stationery system had to echo the personality of the studio as well as the breadth of work we do for our clients. The result was a complex system of business cards, letterhead, envelope and notecards.

The series of business cards, feature illustrations, written narratives, photography and mark making representing each individual and their role in the studio, revealing personal and professional attributes based on nicknames, stories and other seemingly random associations. Thus, giving each individual a system of 3 cards which work cohesively across all members of the team.

Arguably, the most intriguing in the series are the cards which use carefully selected animals and custom crafted descriptions to best define the individual and their role within the studio. The selections are as diverse as the individuals.
