Sprint just launched a new site to promote its mobile capabilities called “Sprint NOW“. In addition to a well designed interface and animations, it’s functionally deep. It’s essentially a dashboard full of really interesting and sometimes nonsensical meta type information from Doggy Daycare live video feeds to “Top Words Being Used Online”.
In our interactive work we’re often asked to design and develop dashboards for monitoring and productivity of web applications & data and it’s a constant quest to give the user a taste of information but not overload their eyes. “Sprint Now” is a great example of where overloading is absolutely perfect and frankly fun. They’re even appealing to multiple senses by introducing a woman’s digitized voice speaking random facts and “Sprint Now” brand messages.
You can check this out at http://now.sprint.com, extend the experience through desktop or iGoogle widgets or see a sneak peak of the embedded Flash widget in action below.
